Oh goodness gracious…..SO SO much to talk about today and so little time…..I woke about 5am just like always….put on the coffee and sat down to the computer and I’ll be switched if I didn’t have private messages and emails out the wazoo..HOWEVER!!! That’s a GOOD thing…because I love to hear your thoughts TOO…..So I got those all answered and went to refresh my coffee and looked out the kitchen window and there was 14 deer out there and they were all being chased by a little buck….So I had to stop and watch them for a while….and my goodness the next thing I know….it’s almost noon…..hahaha
It sounds like many of you are in pretty much the same boat I’m in….You’re perfectionists with unorganized minds….that’s meeeeeeeeeeeee too….
So many questions….like you all think I have all the answers….hahaha The GEEZER does! I wish you could just take a peek into his lifestyle and how he lives….day in and day out….He is a perfectionists to the hilt…..
Everything the geezer does…is to perfection. His clothes closet is organized like a closet that would go in a magazine….according to color and categories….Now he doesn’t have a lot of clothes…we’re just not clothing hounds….we have what we need…and no more…. what he has is hung according to like colors…..and it’s t-shirts….short sleeve shirts….long sleeve shirts…jeans and pants….And THEN….all the brown tone t-shirts are together…according to degree of beige or brown…and so on…hahaha
There is absolutely NO mess in his closet….He has a shelf on top and it is lined with boxes that are categorized with labels….and stacked according to size…..He’ll hear me say I’m going to get something out of his closet and he’ll say….”Now let ME get that for you…I don’t want things shuffled” 🙂 His shoes stay in the original shoe BOXES that they came in…until he needs them…and he’s needing a new pair of black tennis shoes now…and when he comes home with them…the old ones will go in the trash…THAT MINUTE….
Billy is one of the MOST organized people I know…..I can’t BELIEVE he lets me LIVE with him..hahaha….beCAUSE “I” am one of the most UNORGANIZED people I know…..Now we don’t have liter….I can’t stand liter….but if you had opened my one bad closet door week before last…before I cleaned and organized it…..we would have been seeing YOU….on Nancy GRACE…..And it STILL isn’t organized according to lengths and color like Billy does….but it’s really neat and I love just opening the door and looking in….to be sure I didn’t dream I cleaned that closet so well….hahaha
You go to Billy’s workshop and tools are hung on the walls according to category and then according to size…..his workbench…as he calls it….has a big organizing container on the left hand end…and it has about 25 compartments in it….and every size nail or screw or bolt….has it’s own drawer….I can run out to the workshop with a little nail…and say “Billy…Do you have a nail this size?” And he’ll say….”Blue organizer…left hand corner of workbench….row 4….drawer 3″ WHAT????????
The back room is his garden room…and rakes and shovels and all kinds of garden tools are hung like a display in a farm store…..
If…heaven forbid…we were to go kaput tomorrow….the kids would find DETAILED instruction on what to do and where to find everything from insurance policies to a detailed notebook about our funeral arrangements and who to have as pall bearers….with alternatives if some of the pall bearers pass away before WE do……hahaha He HAD a note in there to contact Possum immediately to assist them….but now Possum has had a stroke…so I wonder if he’s added someone else as a contact…I should check that out…….
I WISH I was as organize as Billy…..but he has the good brains and I have the warm heart….and together….we make a pretty unbeatable team…..Someone asked what my all time favorite book is on getting organized…and it’s without a doubt “Side Tracked Home Executives: From Pigpen To Paradise”” ALL of their books are just wonderful…
I’m not quite as organized as…..oh say…..ANYBODY….but I DO KNOW AND TRULY BELIEVE…our homes should be our haven where we can come and hide away from the cold and wild and crazy world that is brewing around us…..And we can’t feel like we’re in a safe ‘haven’…if there is Chaos all around us….So organized behind cabinet and closet doors or NOT…we should ALL strive to make our home surface tidy and warm and fuzzy…..We all should want to set down at night and have our rooms just wrap it’s arms around us in a big tight hug….
Kim and I have always wanted to go to a Container Store…..I don’t even know where there IS one…….But OH MY GOODNESS….to be in an organizational heaven…like a container store….hahaha would be to me…..like going to the Mall Of America for many of YOU….hahaha
We’ll talk more about making our homes warm and fuzzy in the next few days…..so SO many say they really love to read about that….so just hang on…..more soon…
NOW….let me update you on the ABSOLUTELY DESTITUTE FAMILIES we are finding in Massac County….And let me assure you…we are checking out people….to be sure we’re not helping people who are making a habit of living off of others…..I just can’t BELIEVE there are so many that are falling thru the cracks right here in Massac County…
I’m getting calls almost every day…just me….and Bro Shawn and Bro Paul are getting calls too……Yesterday Bro Paul went to a home I was called about….and it was a family of 3 and they had been stretching their last bit of food…..a can of Spam…for 2 days….the day he went…was day 2…..So first thing he did…was run back to the church (I had already checked them out through the proper authorities) and he took them tons of food….They were living in a back bedroom because there was a big hole in the living room ceiling/roof….so he was going to have someone there to repair that hole this morning….but GADS IT”S RAINING…..
Last week….he found a homeless family of 8….the mom had found a job…but you know how that is…it’s going to be 2 weeks before she gets paid…and then how will she make a deposit…turn on lights and do all that needs to be done….out of one paycheck when she had no savings put back…..
Bro Paul is also working with a mom that’s just in a desperate situation and will be homeless next week without help AND she has other dire problems…like an overdue light bill and she’s never even been late before…I know that for a fact….The mom is kind of mentally challenged and so is her daughter….and the daughter has a little baby….Now MY first thought…was…. did that baby come into the world because of an accident….or a crime…if the girl was mentally challenged…..And babies are Gods gift….so the BABY isn’t the problem….the problem IS…did someone take advantage of a mentally challenged young girl…….
